The exterior courtyard of a Spanish Colonial Revival residence in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. This outdoor dining area sits outside the home's kitchen with folding glass doors, which open onto a loggia with wooden beams and a terra-cotta tiled floor.  Spanish tiles adorn the steps' risers. This addition to an existing 1930s Spanish style home was designed by Los Angeles architecture firm Tim Barber Ltd., with landscaping by Patricia Benner Landscape Design.

Spanish Colonial Revival Addition & Renovation

We worked on this 1930s Brentwood home with a previous owner, so when it changed hands we jumped at the chance to expand this gem. The new wing in the rear added a family room, powder room with a new bedroom and bath above. The new wing in the front provided a large open kitchen, laundry, homework room and maid's suite, and a second floor master suite with two additional en-suite bedrooms.

New steel windows and French doors bring a more modern vibe to the home, capturing the views of the tranquil courtyard with its outdoor fireplace, new/old olive trees and drought-resistant plantings.
