Before & After
Classical Revival Residence
For a house with a spectacular view, the home itself left much to be desired (see the Before & After section below). TBL was tasked with transforming and expanding a homely house into an East-Coast-on-the-West-Coast Colonial Revival style family home and creating a rear yard where none existed before.
Designed for lavish parties as well as casual gatherings, this home has a chef's kitchen with a full bar and a formal dining room that commands an expansive view of downtown Los Angeles. In the living room, at the touch of a button draperies close and a screen descends from the paneled ceiling, turning the space into a screening room for family movie night.
Upstairs accommodates three high-ceilinged bedrooms, three baths and a master suite. The master bedroom has a two-story closet with a rolling ladder and a bath with spectacular views from the tub. A paneled gentleman’s study with open beamed ceiling is bathed by natural light from a cupola above, and a picture window framing the best view of all.
